Without a Gastrograffin contrast CT scan, a bowel obstruction of the biliopancreatic limb may be missed, leading to delayed diagnosis, nausea, but no vomiting, elevated liver function tests, pancreatitis, and abdominal pain. Do not be dismissed by a “normal” CT scan that did not have oral contrast.
