Biliary diversion, also known as duodenal switch (not the SIPS/SADI), is the only definitive treatment for bile reflux gastritis, which prevents bile from getting to the stomach and causing irritation and gastritis. Bile reflux is not the same as GERD, or acid reflux, as each has different causes and treatment.
