I started using Splenda in coffee several years ago. I was pre-diabetic, muscular, but not obese. I drink 3 - 5 mugs of coffee per day. Over the years, I have gained and lost a few pounds depending on the season, but overall, have increased my belly size, even though I am no longer a big eater. I found this article yesterday when I googled the question, "will using splenda in my coffee make me fat". I was suspicious that it might be as I am moderately active, do not binge or overeat, yet feel bloated around my neck, torso, and midriff. 5 or so packets of Splenda per day in coffee has been my only regular daily intake of questionable food, so I am experimenting with how removing that from my diet and opting for coffee with only cream for a little while will feel. Wish me luck?
